and Staff
As allergists, our physicians are highly trained to determine the cause of allergies related to foods, the environment, drugs, or topical substances.
Our medical staff includes the following professionals:
Michael J. Roberts, MD Physician
Michael J. Roberts, MD did his undergraduate education at Clark University, in Worcester, MA and received his M.D. at the University of Miami School of Medicine. Internship, residency and fellowship were at Columbia Univ., Univ. of Texas-Houston, and Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles. Dr. Roberts is board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Pediatrics. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA School of Medicine and actively participates in teaching at the West LA VA/UCLA allergy fellowship program.
Special interests in practice include educating patients to enable them to effectively participate in managing their symptoms as well as making educated decisions regarding manipulating medication. Drug and food challenges are another area of interest and expertise.
Dr. Roberts shares the West Hills office with his wife, Bonnie Beaver, MD, an OB-GYN. They are the proud parents of two daughters attending the University of Miami, as well as four 4-legged sons (2 dogs and 2 cats).
Outside the office, Dr. Roberts loves to travel, either on or off his orange and green Vespa scooter, cook (and eat) and play bad golf.
Pravin Muniyappa, MD Physician
Pravin Muniyappa, MD graduated from a combined B.S./M.D. program in Ohio. He stayed true to his Midwestern roots by completing his internal medicine residency at the Univ. of Illinois at Chicago. Allergy/Immunology training was completed at the West Los Angeles VA/UCLA training program, where Dr. Muniyappa remains active in teaching fellows in training as well as conducting clinical research.
Dr. Muniyappa is board certified in Internal Medicine and Allergy/Immunology.
Educating patients and family members remains a focus for Dr. Muniyappa as well as providing treatment while minimizing medication.
Dr. Muniyappa's hobbies include yoga, reading fiction and caring for a cat named Sasha.
Judy Kaplan Front office coordinator
Judy has been with the office since its opening in October, 1983. Even with her part time status, she knows the ins and outs of insurance, scheduling, and who should be where and when.
Renee Klein Chief Receptionist
Renee is most often the friendly voice you hear either on the phone or as you walk in the door of the office. She is the master in scheduling patients when seemingly no appointments are available.
Suzy Schore Medical Assistant
Suzy is our jolly "shot lady" and allergy skin tester extraordinaire. Her friendly ways relax everyone, especially the younger children.
Karen Ryan Nurse educator
Karen's forte is education and making follow-up telephone calls after office visits to answer patient's questions (especially after they cannot read the doctor's instructions.) She also coordinates special procedures such as food and drug challenges.
